What I Learned from 21 Days at the Balance Point
After three weeks of wobbling together, exploring gravity, center, spirals, shakes and grace — here’s what I know for sure:
Balance isn’t still. It’s alive.
It’s a shifting conversation between weight and lift, between anchoring and floating, between the empty leg and the power gesture. And it lives in every step we take, every time we stand on one foot, every time we pause and check — where is my center right now?
Over 21 days of movement, here’s what we discovered together:
Center is not a place. It’s a relationship.
Sometimes it was in our belly. Other times it was in our pelvis, our chest, or hovering somewhere mid-air as we leaned back or swung forward. Center moved. And we learned to move with it.
We got curious about compression and expansion — what it takes to really commit weight into one side so the other can lift. The joy of finding an empty leg. The intelligence of a power gesture. The wobbly truth of functional patterns where one elbow meets the opposite knee, and the fascia knows what to do even when the mind is unsure.
Spirals hold us together.
We moved in torsion, in oscillation, in spirals. And the more we let the body spiral naturally — like throwing a ball, like walking with arms swinging — the more held we felt.
Stability came from motion. Not from locking. Not from clenching.
We met our Zoomies, Gliders, and Swans. We rolled our pelvis like a clock. We walked our sit bones across the floor , shuffling, mobilising many new and amazing parts of our bodies. We swung legs and arms and found balance at the chaos of it all.
We discovered that balance isn’t always poised. Sometimes it’s a wild ride. But there’s always a center to return to. A breath. A belly. A pause.
What I’ll carry forward…
-
To listen to my center not as a fixed point, but as a changing sensation.
-
To know that wobble is wisdom — it tells me I’m adapting, not failing.
-
To remember that even when the world feels off-kilter, I can find my way back through movement, through awareness, through play.
Oh — and to always thank my body after the practice. Gratitude, like grounding, goes a long way.
Coming up next:
In June, we’ll shift from the deep ground of Balance Point into the upward arc of Solar — a celebration of brightness, warmth, and the life-giving power of the sun. ☀️
But for now, let this moment land.
Let it settle in your bones.
Let it ripple.
Let it balance.
