WEEKLY THEMES

WEEK 1 : Nov 10 — Walking in Tango
Every tango begins with a walk.
We’ll explore balance, connection, and rhythm — turning simple steps into a living dance.

In tango, everything begins with the walk. It’s not about steps or choreography — it’s about connection, gravity, and rhythm.
We’ll explore how to move with awareness of the floor, how to share weight with your partner, and how to let the music guide your pace.
Walking becomes dancing when every step is alive with attention.

WEEK 2 : Nov 17 — The Embrace of the Tango Dancer
The heart of tango lies in the embrace.
Learn how to hold, listen, and move together — grounded, open, and in tune.

The embrace is the heart of tango. It’s how we communicate without words.
We’ll learn how to create comfort, safety, and responsiveness in the arms — how to hold and be held without tension.
Through subtle tone and listening, you’ll discover how an embrace can be both grounding and free, intimate and respectful.

WEEK 3 : Nov 24 — Axis & Pivots
Find your centre and learn to turn with ease.
Balance, softness, and trust make every movement flow.

Every dancer moves around their own vertical line — the axis.
This week we explore how to find your balance and how to share it in movement.
We’ll play with gentle pivots, discovering how rotation happens through softness and precision, and how connection keeps us steady even when we turn.

WEEK 4 : Dec 1 — Simple Patterns in the Dance
Discover the beauty in simplicity.
We’ll link steps, crosses, and side movements into fluid conversation with the music.

Once we can walk, embrace, and pivot, patterns begin to emerge.
We’ll look at how small combinations — side steps, forward and back crosses — create flow and musical expression.
Tango isn’t about memorizing moves; it’s about improvising within structure.
This week brings clarity and play to your movement vocabulary.

WEEK 5 : Dec 8 — The Giro
Spiral, turn, and play.
The giro teaches grace, rhythm, and how to move as one body with two hearts.

The giro, or “turn,” is one of tango’s most elegant movements.
We’ll learn how to spiral around each other with balance and ease — leader and follower each in continuous dialogue.
The giro teaches us fluidity, coordination, and trust: how to move as one body with two hearts.

WEEK 6 : Dec 15 — Bringing It All Together – The Social Dance
Connection, confidence, and community.
This week we bring everything together and step into the joy of social tango.

This week we bring everything into relationship — walk, embrace, pivots, and turns — in a real dance.
We’ll practice connecting through the music, entering and leaving dances gracefully, and sharing the floor with others.
It’s about presence, awareness, and joy — the feeling of being part of a community dance.

WEEK 7 : Dec 22 — Stops & Ganchos
Pauses, play, and expression.
Learn how stillness and movement meet — adding a touch of sparkle to your dance.

The final week is all about musicality and expression.
We’ll explore pauses — the still moments where connection deepens — and introduce ganchos, the playful hooking leg movement that arises from clear intention and timing.
You’ll feel how freedom grows from good technique and trust.
From here, every tango you dance will begin to tell its own story.

Tango is a dance of connection — between two people, with the music, and with yourself.
