A Day in the Life of a BCST Student at Body College Galway
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a student in our Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) training? Here’s a glimpse into a typical day at Body College:
9:30 AM – Arrival & Settling Meditation
We start the day with a brief meditation to center ourselves and prepare for the learning ahead.
9:45 AM – Lecture on BCST Topics
Our morning lecture covers essential topics such as anatomy of the spine, liver, joints, relationships between different parts of the body, and how they express themselves in movement, relational touch, trauma response, and the role of the midline in health. Each seminar dives into these core aspects, gradually building your understanding.
11:00 AM – Tea Break
Enjoy a homemade, gluten-free cake with tea or coffee. The hot water is kindly provided by the hotel, and we bring our own supplies to keep costs manageable for students over the two-year course.
11:20 AM – Presentation & Clinical Techniques
We present specific handholds and verbal techniques, focusing on the intention behind touch and what we’re listening for during a session.
12:00 PM – Hands-On Practice
Students pair up to give and receive sessions, practicing the handholds and experiencing the techniques firsthand. This experiential approach is a cornerstone of our training.
1:00 PM – Lunch Break
Time to relax and connect with peers.
2:30 PM – Afternoon Lecture & Skills Development
We cover topics like verbal skills, perception of natural phenomena, and the subtleties of non-doing in BCST. These sessions deepen your understanding.
3:30 PM – Tea Break
Another chance to refresh and connect with the community.
4:00 PM – Session Swap: Give & Receive
The day concludes with another practical session where students swap roles, continuing to refine their skills in a supportive environment.
Our program is intensely focused on practical work. While theory is important, the heart of BCST is in the hands-on practice of touch, guided by the principles of biodynamic health. Through consistent practice, you’ll develop the perceptual skills needed to become an expert BCST practitioner, capable of helping others with pain, anxiety, and trauma.
